AI Air Assist - PLEASE Someone Help ... Joel?

Post by Dereck »

I've put this on another area here and haven't been able to get an answer so I am going to try in this area hoping there is someone who can provide the answer.

I'm playing using the AI Air Assist. I've noticed that there are available AOGs and the question I haven't been able to get answered is this:

Will the AI Air Assist use the new available AOGs and assign them to air commands automatically as part of what it does or is manual intervention required to get new AOGs in play?

Thank you

Addendum: I just got the Volkhov Air Command HQ and the Logistics Phase Report also said the Air Operational Group Volkhov Air Command, Volkhov Recon Group and Volkhov Transport Group arrived yet I don't see them on the screen along with the other Air commands when showing Air Operational Groups on the map.

How do I set the stance, asset priority, etc if there are no AOG icons on the map for me to access? Do I need to wait a turn or what?

Hi, on the AOG icon, there is a button upper row all the way on the right that you can use any time during the turn to show the icons. From there, you can make changes to stance/follow hq/etc. at any time in the turn.

Thank you but that is NOT the question I've asked. I already know what you just said.

My question is:

Hi I played with Ai air assist for a couple of games. I think the answer to your question is yes. But I'm not 100% sure as I didn't pay much attention to the air the first few games.

I do know however that the game is much more fulfilling when you manage the air yourself. It's really not that hard once you do it for a bit.

Baring that all I can offer is you just keep experimenting and picking things up yourself as you go.

I think the answer is, sometimes. I think the AI will use certain AOGs and bring them to the map, but I don't think it will do it for all that you might want to have happen. In that case, I think you can bring an AOG to the map manually (right click on an airbase hex and select the bring AOG etc.). Once you have it on the map, assign it orders and I think the AI will deal with it and use it. It's a long time since I used the AI assist so I'm going from memory here, which is generally fading (for everything). ;)
