Combat hangs with 2 troops left

Experienced what I think is a bug on my play through that is showcased in the video where when the combat gets down to the last 2 troops, it just hangs indefinitely until more troops reinforce and eventually I win. When it is down to two troops I should clearly lose in 1-2 more ticks, but instead the enemy starts healing up and I lose no health.
