Advanced Tactics Gold being updated

Advanced Tactics Gold is getting a new update in the works that promises to be a lot of fun. The ATG forum is pretty dead right now so I just want to give a heads up that this update is going to make an already great game even better. The game is incredibly versatile and can be modded in the most amazing ways (albeit there's a steep learning curve modding it). I definitely encourage others here to give the game a try if you haven't already. I'm not on the update team but I've had the game for years and find myself coming back to it again and again even if only to play around modding the game to my own tastes. I highly recommend it.

thanks it was on sale so i got it, I had Avanced tactics ww2 so never upgraded, so i will see how this goes, but £8 is a bargain

Advanced Tactics is one of my favourites - it is the random scenario generator I like. And the fact there are Roman and Napoleonic mods.

Shadow Empire is a sort of space future version - but I have never really got into space games.

I have watched videos of it. All seem to take a place on the planet surface, even if one would happen to be a moon without atmosphere. No navy nor air force of any kind, though this may have changed in more recent versions since then.

I should probably add that these are not official ATG graphics. They are completely independent, fan-produced, and can be relatively easily added to the game to enhance the enjoyment of it. I posted an installation file for them with instructions in the ATG "Mods and Scenarios" forum.

The Phoenix team, composed of several hardcore ATG fans, is working with Vic (the designer) to flesh out the update. I'm looking forward to what they come up with.
