Port Supply Interdiction

Post by MattFL »

Curious about how this works. My understanding is if the enemy have Naval or Air units in proximity to the port it can be interdicted. I also assume if you have naval groups along the trade routes, that can also cause some form of interdiction to a port along that route. I think this is correct.

In several games I'm playing I'm constantly seeing Ports interdicted but there isn't anything that i can see that is interdicting them. There is nothing noted in the battle reports or turn summary reports. There are no enemy naval or air units anywhere about. So why are these ports interdicted? Is there something going on behind the scenes causing this? I had thought that maybe it was lack of transports showing up as interdiction, but it says you only need 1 transport to supply a port, so that can't be it.

Just trying to understand the cause of it because there isn't anything visible, reported, or obvious. I had thought that any and all interdiction would show up in the battle reports, is this the case? Anyway, i'm probably missing something, but i do want to understand the cause.

Thanks in advance.

In that case, those ports are simply used in full (you have more units in China than the ports can supply. You probably have units in basic supply.

Yes, some in basic supply and some with no supply at all, some with normal supply i think. So it's showing as Port Interdiction when the reality is that it's just using up all of the available supply? Makes sense i guess, if not a bit confusing.

So the solution is to take units out of China to ease the supply issues. Will run a test on it by removing all air assets from China this turn and see what happens. Thanks!

Yes, it's an absolute Killer when you're in a grinding battle and your troops aren't getting replacements.....

For me the worst is...your air get no efficiency back...1 per turn means they won't fly anytime soon.
And IF only your air is in basic supply, there is no message for that.

SO you have to watch for a message of one of your ground troops to be in basic then you know all your air is too.
Then you have to fly them all out and wait.

I have a trick to keep my China advance in supply, but I have not given that information out...
I have to keep something to myself.

Attacking China is like attacking Russia except you have no main supply source to draw from
