Divisions changing forces

Post by thedoctorking »

I've had a couple of situations where I got a battle with CVs I didn't want, because it was night and none of our planes could fly, or the enemy was too close, or what have you. Those CVs were in a separate Carrier Force with their escorting DDs and cruisers, and when I sent the CVs into a nearby port, the DDs and so on could refuse to enter port but couldn't be assigned to support the BBs. Why is this? It means I have to control the DD divisions manually, which is time-consuming and defeats the immersion of being the fleet commander and using the AI to control your forces under most circumstances.

It is the same problem as with scout force forces that can't be subordinated to the main forces. It wpuld be great if this artificial restriction could be removed, especially in light of the often questionable results of the battle generator.

Yeah, and I don't see any way to turn off carrier force as an option as you can do with scout force.
