Sailing regatta event deducts from savings, not budget

I had the sailing regatta event, where for a temporary reduction in your budget, you can reduce tensions. I wanted to reduce tensions, and I had a budget surplus, so I accepted it, only to find that my bank balance was suddenly $12K in the red. I would have had to scrap most of the fleet to get myself back into positive territory before taking the big prestige and fleet morale hit for "anti-deficiency". At a minimum, the event should tell you "your saved balance will be reduced by X$".

Or else it cost so much of your budget you ended up £12k in the red.

I do agree that you should have an indicator of how much it would cost though.

Otherwise though, do be careful about accepting one-off expenses like this if your reserves and budget are low.
