Latest patch notes / impressions of the new DLC?

Post by SchDerGrosse »

As per the Matrix website the new "[PC][64-bit] Update v1.06.1328.10" version is out. Does anyone now where can I find the patch notes? (I am especially interested whether the SAM sites unable to hit evading targets bug has been resolved or not)

Also, If any of you tried the new DLC, please share your impressions.

Thanks,

They don't seem to have been posted yet, but you can read them once the patch is installed, the notes are on the first few pages of the 'whatsnew' PDF document

Pre-emptively posting this: The release notes mention that the official scenarios have been updated. Due to a mix-up during release, the "old" scenarios are still present. We will be able to fix this tomorrow. We apologise for the mistake.

Yay, you fixed the SAM issue. Thank you! Gonna buy the new dlc and give it a spin.

As with other changes, I can see that WRA was set to an universal value of 50%. I think the devs will have to acknowledge at the end that that the one and only solution for the WRA problem is to take into consideration the performance of each and every weapon system and give them a unique WRA.

The new DLC has Mig-29-s, I assume they are armed with either Alamo-s or Adders. According to the testing that I have done, these missiles cannot hit actively evading targets from 50% WRA as they dont have enough fuel.

Thank you for the straight forward answer that will finally put this to rest.

Clearly I stand alone with my view regarding this matter, so dont worry I pinky swear that I will refrain from opening this pandora's box in the future ever again.

I think you helped drive a positive change, so don't sell yourself short. It is time though to check things out and not jab the devs unnecessarily.

I'm intrigued by what seems to be the new Matrix policy of releasing patches at a somewhat slower rate.

Perhaps this strategy is better in terms of quality control?
The boogabooga doctrine for CMO: Any intentional human intervention needs to be able to completely and reliably over-ride anything that the AI is doing at any time.

I suspect that several people complaining vociferously about the rapid patch/update release rate being confusing played a role also.

Or maybe the Devs have been rather busy with PE and those kind of conferences recently?

It did seem for a while like there was a "sprint" going on (in project management terms) with a lot of CMO updates, but those can't be kept up indefinitely.

I've left my impressions on the DLC in a thread in the Showcase section;

I think at times the pace may have been a little too fast, and the changes did not always seem to have time to be fully tested.

Ideally, I would like a rapid update rate in terms of patches with regard to resolving issues/problems
/glitches found in gameplay, but a slower rate (like now) for introducing new features.

Patch releases tend to ebb and flow. They tend to come more quickly when a major patch/features is being tested (MDSP, 64-bit, etc), slow down a little as issues get worked out, and then increase after the major patch goes official, and then slowly ebb again as the team takes a breath and moves onto other things. Rinse and repeat.
