AI Challenging too powerful in 1942

Post by MButtsworth »

Playing the AI Grand Campaign
Reaching 1942 it seems overly powerful routing Soviet armies with ease.
Is it okay to tone it down to normal in 1942 or is my poor play at fault?

When you set the Axis AI to even 110 in addition to other things it increases the combat value of the Axis units 110% AND the morale 110% for what the game has set as 75 national morale becomes 82 or 83 depending on how it's rounded.

I stopped my first campaign in June 1942 when I found the Axis AI strong enough to continue the 1941 offensive along the entire front so have been working on editing a scenario for play against the AI I can use.

IM me directly if you want to know anymore, but I doubt it's your "poor play" at fault. In my games at 110 with the way the AI "cheats" I have literally seen the same German division attack 10-15 times in the same turn without losing strength or prep points apparently.

I tried 110 Morale AI as the German once for 1941 and the Soviet formation becomes Space Marines even by 1942. IMO, the only justifiable time to set AI 110 is when playing Soviets in 1941 so the German could do blitzkrieg effectively. And then set it back to 100 when the winter offensive 41/42 comes and keep it that way.

Unfortunately I may have learnt that too late. At the end of the winter in which the German army should have been crippled I have 135 divisions in reserve theatre and my army is on the brink of collapse.

The Germans wasn't supposed to be crippled by Spring 1942. You could say 1945 or 1944 at least but not 1942.
