The Next Patch and Soviet Factories Railed To The Urals

Post by canuckgamer »

In our PBEM game the next turn will be the Axis August 14 turn. Twice in the game, the Turn Report showed the following:

"Soviet railed factories come online in the Urals"

However Moscow, Voronezh, and Kursk still show their starting on map production totals. I would have thought that as soon as their respective factories came online in the Urals the production numbers for each city on the map would be reduced accordingly.

I assume a new patch is coming soon so maybe this should be looked at and patched if it is not working the way it should be.

Are you both the latest version or did you update in the middle of a game?

My game is at the latest version and both show correctly for me. They railed...

Moscow is a 5 and Voronezh and Kursk have nothing.

We started this game back in May of this year and have installed multiple patches. Currently we are at 1.00.27. Are you saying that the change to rail factories to the Urals will not occur unless the patch had been installed before starting the game?

I have seen issues when you upgrade that somethings do not work as expected.

I don't like to upgrade when I am playing a game because I have seen it cause weird issues.

It could be that it is working but the map is not updating. OR it may not be working at all.

The points come online in the Urals here:

xyArea=237,74, Sprite 62 (10 point resource)
xyArea=226,74, Sprite 25 (20 point city)
xyArea=240,76, Sprite 60 (20 point resource)

That is what they are in the game...

IF you do not see them on the map I suspect they did not move.

Thanks for that info, I will check those hexes when it is my turn. One thing I forgot to mention is that in this game the Axis did not DOW and invade the USSR until May 42 although it did indicate in the turn info some time in 1941 and around June 42 that the factories had railed and come online.

We also apply the matches because it takes so long to finish a PBEM game and I think most changes do happen even when the game is update to an existing game.

We are now in to the first turn of October 42. As previously mentioned there were two notes on game turn reports indicating that USSR factories had railed to the Urals and were now online. However that has not happened because the production values for the three cities on the map have not changed.
In addition my opponent has confirmed that he is getting production from Kharkov after capturing it whereas the Germans should be getting zero for Kharkov.
It must be because we installed the patch part way through the game. Changes in patches seem to be hit and miss, sometimes when they are installed to an in progress game the changes take effect, other times they don't. Considering how long it takes to play a 1939 campaign game I think all changes should take effect even to an in progress game. We started our 1939 small fleet historical winter game in May of this year so considering that it is October 42 we probably won't finished until spring 2024 if it goes the distance.
