New entry/gamer.

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

New entry/gamer.

Post by adarbrauner »

Hello to all,
I am a new comer / addicted to close combat (too much addicted I'd say).

The only major "criticism" I have toard the game, especially when the grand campaign is played, is that a relatively tiny 2 platoon formation decides the destiny of an entire sector which could have been the scene for a whole battalio, or even 3 battalions.

I understand where it comes from, a big number of platoons over a big map in real time would make the game playable with considerable difficulty.

Still, I wonder whether it would be possible tood the game in such a way to have 10 or more platoons deployed per map/sector, and whether any such mod does exist.

My second question that I hope shall find an answer here, is how to install a mod, taking into account that I bought my game through GOG, and that it seemingly can be launched thorough the GOG application only (alas, I can't even update the game to last versions, since I can't see any option for that through GOG)

Thank you for your time and help,

Adar

Some mods have an installer and when you run it it gives you the option to follow the installation path for the steam version or for gog/matrix

If you dont have installer, you must create a folder, place the mod files and create a shortcut with the /D switch method

for example C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem\Radzymin44 (installation path)
"C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem\CCE.exe" /D Radzymin44 (shortcut)

To install a mod in steam version, heres a thread and a youtube video
