Cannot play war in the pacific admiral edition in fullscreen mode

Post by Varad2nd »

Hi I cannot for the love of god get war in the pacific to run at full screen at the native resolution of my pc monitor (4k). Ive tried using seebees, and various command lines such as "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -SingleCpuOrders -cpu4 -fd -pxf3840 -pyf2160 -deepColor -dd_sw -multiaudio -altFont -skipVideo -archive. NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK! Please help. All that happens is the left corner of my screen goes black and then the game doesnt show up. Ive tried diong the same command line as above but with-wd instead of -fd, and it seemed to atleast launch into menu, but then panning the map causes horrendous graphical artifacts to appear.

Most users who have 4K monitors and suitable graphics cards have reported getting the game running at a max resolution around 2560. I don't know if they got full screen on that. Note that the text on the map would be very small at that resolution and you would need a huge monitor to make it legible. And if you are running off a laptop, it is even harder to get a full screen game (presumably because the laptop graphics chip has fewer options and less power than a desktop graphics board).

... unless you are running an M-Tech laptop which is mostly a mainframe motherboard built into a larger than normal laptop. A little pricey but it smokes all other laptops, especially with ALL SSD memory. :D

Try going to this thread and see if it helps you. As far as I know, AE only goes to 2560 x _ resolution. What your screen can do makes no difference because of the limits of the game engine.

Varad2nd, can you please delete this post. It keeps coming up highlighted as an unread post but nothing new is in it. It seems to be a repeat of what you have in the Tech Thread so it is not needed and is only being spam. I have never seen the repetition of a post in this way before but the Forum software does not seem to be handling it as a normal post.

EDIT: now I see my post has shown up in the Tech Forum copy of the post. I do not mean you to delete both copies - just cut off the copying to the main forum if you can.
