Transfert supply to China (No Ric please)

Post by grisouille_slith »

Dear all
End of feb 42. Burma is still mine. I'm loading lots of supply from Calcutta to Rangoon and want to transfert it to China. What is the best way to do that?
Is it to put all the bases along the road with supply "Yes" and increase the "supllies required", or only the final base (for example Kweiyang or Chungking"
Till now, I have put MAndalay, Paoshan, Tsuyung, Kunming to "yes" and "supplies required" to 3000... I have about 160000 supply in China (90000 in Western China) but difficult to increase this number...

Thank you for your help.

HQs units will pull supplies. If you increase the supply draw at Paoshan (I don't have my game open, but the first base on the road from Burma) with all Chinese bases connected to that base stockpiling supplies, then that Chinese base will pull supplies from Burma. Then stockpile supplies at Lashio while reducing the demand while Paoshan lowers its supply request with the Chinese bases no longer stockpiling supplies but increasing their demand will pull the supplies from Paoshan. The problem is the limit on just how much supply that Paoshan can draw each turn. But the easiest way is to dump lots of supplies at Rangoon and let them flow until the Japanese are threatening to cut the supply route to China.

Also, increasing the size of the bases along the roads to Chunking will improve supply draw. But consider whether you want the Japanese to capture a larger base - i.e. do you intend to commit forces to defend those bases or let the Japanese take them as they march through Burma?
As part of your consideration - Chinese units are huge and under strength. It will take a huge amount of supply to build them all to reasonable strength (about 50% of their TOE). I dropped over a million supply in China (by ship, mostly) and it disappeared instantly. What I should have done was turn off replacements and upgrades for all the Chinese units and then selected the ones with good leaders that I wanted to expand first before turning on those replacements and upgrades.
Also, there are a few Chinese units that are NOT permanently restricted. You can consider buying them out with PP, marching them to India and letting them fill out there where supply is plentiful. They will be very useful come late 1943-44.
