New Korsun Pocket scenario available for download!

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

New Korsun Pocket scenario available for download!

Post by e_barkmann »

In celebration of the recent North American release of KP, I am happy to announce a new scenario for free download.

It's called "Wiking Whiteout" and is an ahistorical representation of an all-out brawl as two Corps collide in the middle of an extended, low-visibility snowstorm.

This would be a good game to "kick the tyres" of the PBEM system as it's only 10 turns long.

The scenario went through about 6 weeks of development (well OK, not full time..) and about 8 or 9 versions before we were happy with the end result.

Myself, Rob Gjessing, Matthew Urch, BrubakerII, Josan and Duncan Maggs hope you enjoy it!

To download, go to WAR and click on the "Scenarios" link.
To install, select the directory in which Korsun Pocket is installed. By default, this would normally be C:/Matrix Games/Korsun Pocket.

Cheers, Chris

ps we may have a little something up our sleeves to celebrate the upcoming European release of the game too, you know.... :D

Just finished a PBEM game of Wiking Whiteout with Wilhammer. It ended in a Soviet minor win. I think I can speak for him in saying we both a had a lot of fun with it. It's a great scenario for learning the game mechanics. On to the full campaign...
