Chinese railroads are Swiss cheese

Post by ElvisJJonesRambo »

Another mystery: What's it take, for the Japanese to keep the Rail, intact from Manchuria to Singapore?

Changsha is like a Chinese Fireworks display.

I believe this has been discussed, that's it's not possible, doesn't matter.

Anyone?

Hi, well I think it's fine considering the brutality the Japanese inflicted on the Chinese population.
A lot of the partisan hexes that are close together can be held down by one unit though...since a unit only needs to be adjacent to a P hex.
Consider it the problems of governing an unruly and proud nation. 🇹🇼🇨🇳🇧🇹

Thanks for the response OCB.

Correct, keep adjacent where the 'P'; or else an actual Partisan unit will appear. Get that, nice and basic

If Japanese cover every of the strikethru P̶a̶r̶t̶i̶s̶a̶n̶ spots, doesn't matter?

The Chinese can wreck 'em no matter what, in cities?

I would definitely try to cover the P hexes (The ones that spawn and the resource hitting invisible ones) that are anywhere close to the RR line that runs from Seoul via Manchuria and down to Hanoi...and also the interior ones like you showed you own on the map example above.

I found out the hard way that those 'resource partisans', (the ones with a slash across the P)...have a range that extends out aways. I'm am not quite sure how far that range is but would like to know myself.

So for example...there is a resource P hex that's a few hexes away that affects Suchow. I didn't have it covered for awhile.. probably because I was stretched thin, and it fired..bring down Suchow to 4 supply. Well, that wrecked my supply along the whole damn area south of Suchow.
Couldn't operate units either from the north to the south, and I had to scramble to get something to cover the P hex.
Was fun in (I have a strange sense of fun haha) trying to get things right. Meanwhile, the gears of war stopped for awhile for the Japanese south of Suchow...to my opponents delight no doubt. 😁

Nah, we know where the units will appear.

It's all about knowing why "Cities just explode", when positions are covered.

If the Chinese Communists have joined the fight then Chinese cities will get a few random hits from communist Partisans. Usually a small notice pops up. These are NOT avoided by placing units on the P hexes. That may be why your cities sometimes lose supply. Swiss cheese indeed.

I don't think I ever saw a resource (such as a city) take damage when I had everything covered. I will say yes sometimes it's hard to know which cities will take damage when a certain slash-P hex is left with no adjacent unit (sometimes surprised me that it was actually a critical one to cover).
