error message, can't use the editor

Bought Civil War on GOG. I hit editor and it pops up the following error: failed (initialize): no such file or directory.
And then it closes.

What is missing? What do i need to do to get it to work? I tried reinstalling, different directories, running the repair function on GOG. Nothing works.

I just bought the game. I've never had any troubles before with editors in various Strategic Command games. i've no clue what to do to get this to work. Any help is appreciated.

Never mind. Got it. Run the game first, actually save a game. Then the editor opened.
