Problems connecting to PBEM via GOG version, anyone else having issues connecting to the PBEM servers?

Hello,

I've been unable to connect to the PBEM servers since purchasing the game early this year. When pressing multiplayer, the window for my username and password appears correctly, but after entering my credentials the Rising Sun logo just spins indefinitely and says "Connecting" with no errors. The only way to then get rid of the connecting window is to shutdown the game and restart.

I'm using version 10.0.0 of OOB purchased via GOG.

Edit: Using the community content installer works fine, this seems to just be related to the PBEM portion of the game.
