Full screen vs. Windowed modes

Post by CaesarAug »

Quick question: should not the main game opening screen be the same mode as the playing map during a game? That is, both as Full Screen or Windowed?

I’m getting some odd map-sync glitches and I’ve observed it has something to do with resolution and screen modes. Never happened before on Parallels Desktop for Mac but now occasionally happening with a new Windows 11 Pro computer. Thanks for any input.

EDIT: I’ve managed to get both the opening screen and game map during play to match screen modes. Running on a 27” 4K monitor at native resolution 3840x2160 with 200% scaling, i.e., with a 1920x1080 screen area. But still getting certain map-sync glitches during play. Curious.

EDIT (bis): Without making any changes, tried again and discovered that these odd map-sync quirks seem to have fixed themselves somehow. Hope this remains fixed. Most curious!

Glad to hear it is working for you now, and it did seem odd as the game either loads as Full Screen or Windowed, and does not change at any point while the application is running etc.

Thank you, I figured it was odd the two different screen modes.

I’m thinking perhaps there may have been a mismatch of sorts between a Steam installation vs. a manual Matrix Games setup accessing the same user/Documents/My Games/Strategic Command WWII World at War files.

Not really sure what caused the problem in the first place. Not really sure how it fixed itself either! So far it’s working. Let’s see if this oddity doesn’t come up anymore.
