4 Player Internet Lock Up

Post by Sgt Slaughter »

We have been trying to play 4 player via internet. The game runs fine until the start of the 4th players turn, and then locks up solid on all pcs, immediately after the chamber load audio cue. Have tried with 4 different hosts. Slowest pc is Celeron 450, fastest is Pentium 733. All are on cable modem. Game plays great with any three of us, but always locks with 4. Any help appreciated. Where were you guys three weeks ago? Image

But yeah, same here. No matter who hosts or which map is selected, freeze on 4th player's first turn. We did not try if it was the countries chosen, the timeframe, CC, weather, turn time etc. We'll try some more when possible (it's pretty hard to get 4 of us together at the same time).

Thanks, was begining to think we had either hardware, incompatiple systems,viruses... ect.
We think this is best way to fight. 5 minute turns,5k points, random map (dont like random maps too much). We use Roger Wilco for com.

Does anyone know how to turn the game effects down internally? Reason is that Roger Wilco cannot compete with game volume. It would be nice to have volume controls within the game.

Would love to eventually have large campaign online. We could do this in stages.Keep your core units.Award victory points.Fight for years.

war is hell, but sure is fun (games that is)

We made some progress on this problem tonight, at least we were able to finally recreate it...it looks like it crept back in 4.4 after being stomped....we will let you know.

As we have said, SP:WaW is meant to be an experiment with you SP diehards working with us to improve the game! We sincerely appreciate your help, and encourage more to get involved. THis is YOUR game in many ways. Many of the improvements have been at your urging, and we would never be able to get any "real" work down without your troubleshooting assistance! Together we will continue to get the closer to the "SP of all SP versions!

Thanks again and Happy New year!

For those on the East Coast, make sure you have laid in supplies so you can play some good winter scenarios while the snow batters your windows :-)
