FALL OF THE REICH

This was a "unique" expansion pack for East Front II.

Standalone, it was only available directly from Talonsoft's online store.

Most people got it as part of Talonsoft's "World At War" bundle, which bundled:

West Front + Sea Lion + Battle Pack 1
East Front II + Fall of the Reich
Rising Sun Gold

NOTE: East Front II itself was a bundling of East Front + East Front Campaign CD #1, with an enhanced game engine (more rules) and 50~ new scenarios on top of the earlier EF1 stuff.

NOTE II: The EF1 Campaign CD #1 added Poland, Hungary, Finland, Slovakia, Italy and Romania to the game; and set the clock back to 1939 and included 50 new scenarios.

The LCGs included in the EF1 Campaign CD #1 were:

The Polish Tragedy
Finland: David vs Goliath
Romania's Struggle
The New Roman Legions
The Honved in Russia
Operation Uranus
Budapest to Vienna

NOTE III: The World At War Bundle was how I was introduced to the Campaign Series -- which was good luck (for me).

Talonsoft burned out a lot of people at the time by introducing games; then shotgunning out an expansion, then a few months later, shotgunning out a shovelware compilation for cheaper than what people paid for the original(s) earlier.

==============================================

Fall of the Reich had:

1.) Added night fighting rules to simulate true night fighting effects (flares, etc) and the earlier original EF II night scenarios were updated with the new night rules.

2.) Added late war "uber" vehicles such as the Maus and IS-3.

3.) Revised and updated assault values.

4.) Three new Linked Campaign Games, which were, I think....

Crucible of Death (German, Regimental)

On To Berlin (Russian, Brigade)

Storm on the Reich (German, Battalion)

5.) Seventeen brand-new scenarios. They were:

Alushta -- Thunder Valley
Arnswalde -- Terror at Arnswalde
Bernau -- A Time to Die
Bryle -- Hollow Triumph
Gaffron -- For Friends and Honor
Gorshchina -- Steel Dawn
Gotha -- Tanker’s Holiday
Jungfernsee -- Horror of Breslau
Kostev -- Kostev’s Cost
Pliski -- Midnight Madness
Rzhavets -- Blood Moon
Schmergow -- A Tale of Giants
Schoningen -- Winter Kill
Studenka -- Spearpoint
Tarasovka -- Ambush Ridge
Teploye -- A Taste of Kursk
Valka -- Point of the Dagger

They're part of the JTCS compilation; "baked into the cake".

Reason I started this thread; was I was looking for the old Sea Lion Scenarios/LCGs (in order to play them) and wasn't sure what was what; as the Campaign Series menu design is very bad.

I can confirm that 'On to Berlin' was indeed an LCG for East Front II.

I built it (Bart Gauvin)
