Digging trenches

Hi folks,
I can't seem to get my Engineers to build trenches in Bootcamp 2.
I Improve the Position and leave the construction platoon in the hex and click the dig icon again but nothing happens and night falls and all hell breaks loose.
Can you also tell me what you do to get the Engineers to clear blocks and how you are supposed to win this scenario.

Sometimes it takes more than 1 turn (or even a few turns) for this to happen. The unit needs to make a proper die roll behind the scenes for this to happen.

Can you also tell me what you do to get the Engineers to clear blocks...

Just sit them in the hex. Often times it takes only 1 turn, but I think it can occasionally take more than 1 turn to clear a block (again because of a die roll behind the scenes).

Digging trenches does take awhile, unfortunately and it's a random die roll where you hope to get the percentage.

I'd recommend digging in with all your infantry for the first part of the scenario to get your improved positions done.

After, starting in the most southern part of the firebase, put your construction platoon in there and start the digging in process. It will take awhile.

As for clearing the blocks, only your regular engineer can do that.
