Help splitting mod for both new and old patch maps

Post by Cavalry Corp »

Hi Guys

Dean did the work to make the mod work on the new map and patch - not everyone likes that and I think there are also stacking issues that are better in the old map??

I want to make a version for both patches so ...

Do I just delete the new bases in the editor and move everything that arrives there to a base for the old version - hope the answer is yes :) Then I just save as for both the new and old patches and maps?? then players can choose...

Are the only bases that actually need to be removed the ones that are out of sync- i.e. in the sea and we could leave in the other ones?

I think that those new bases are not being used in the newest beta . . .

Ask Joe Wilkerson or Andy Brown for sure about any map changes.

Thanks - the extra bases are for the new map that came with the patch... so I think deleting them looks ok. That is the ones that cannot work with the old and modded maps because they are in limbo/sea. Move units that arrive there to other bases as suits the mod.

I made a test scn and all seems ok just deleting them but I will leave in the ones that are on land so it adds a bit more depth and chrome. I was just wondering if anything else had changed but it seems not.

I will make two versions one for the newest Beta and the new map and one for the version before which is broadly the same.

Thanks for the help and suggestion Ranger.

Michael, the update that is coming out soon will not include the super extended map. It will be available for download from Andrew's web site though....GP

Ok that's interesting so this new patch will be something we can install and use with our mods ( like this one which I just noticed I was not using in my old game) - ie its hard coding stuff?
