It looks like the latest patch might have accidentally overwritten some of the nation specific turret templates.
The turret BDM3T for example, which used to look like the triple mounts on Belfast (1938) with the centre gun set set back, now looks the same as the generic medium triple. There's nothing about this mentioned in the changelog so I assume it is unintentional.

A whole set of dreadnought era medium guns were drawn too small. In the system used by the game, all turrets are drawn to be the same size regardless of caliber. The game will then increase of decrease the size of the turret to match the caliber. For instance, when drawn in the ship designer, a 6 inch barrel should be the same length as a 12" barrel.

A mistake was made with the 6" turrets that were initially released. They were drawn much too small and so look quite out of scale when placed onto a ship. The image below shows what the two version look like when viewed at a zoom level of 5 in the designer, the level at which they are drawn. You can see that the original drawing was much smaller than it should have been. You'll probably notice that the barrels are much thicker in the drawing than they were in real life. This is done so they look reasonably accurate when viewed at the most common resolutions used by the game. In the image below the ship is 9,800 tons.

So you're telling me the change was intentional?
It should probably have gotten a mention in the changelog in that case. As is it gives the impression things were modified by accident.
