Planets/moons shimmer at most camera angles

Post by Lomaster »

The shimmering is most obvious in Free-form camera mode, but is noticeable in other modes too. Planets look like rotten apples. Only low-angle camera mod solves the issue. Which is weird, since if i switch from low-angle to free-form, the planets instantly become rotten even though the angles is the same. The further from camera the uglier they get.

Tried switching every (in-game) graphics option available to no avail. Updating the GPU driver did not help. My GPU is RTX 3060. I also tried reinstalling the game by the way.

Just open the first two screenshots. They were taken from the same spot. One is in low-angle mode and another is after switching to free-form

I believe that I have had the same issue, and posted here, but it hasn't been resolved - see my post from several months ago

I should say as well that I have a RTX 3080, and have also tried all settings, drivers, reinstalls and nvidia settings, to no avail.

I've had the same issue, no apparent fix, with RTX 3060 Ti.

I should say that the 1.4 update that was meant to fix it, did reduce its effect for me compared to before, but didn't make it disappear

Thanks for the report, we'll investigate.

Do you mind uploading a save where you've seen this and steps to reproduce to help us track this down?
DxDiag reports could also be useful.
