Heavens, yes. Been around for years. Pretty good on specs, though not as reliable as Steve "Tanks" Zaloga's work. If you're interested in the subject of Soviet armor, and have not yet encountered Zaloga, you are missing it.

For one thing, contrary to most of the people who write about Soviet armor, Zaloga had direct access to the Soviet design bureau records from all the way back, to before the Germans arrived in their front yard for the second time in the century.

If you can't use Zaloga as a reference, this website is the next best, as as websites go probably the best overall for Russian - soviet arms, armor and some battlefield accounts. They try. They really do.

another forum

Yo Guys,
About 4 or 5 years ago there was another excellent forum devoted to the Russian military and tanks, very similar to this one and I believe the two were linked(didn't see the link on Popatov's page). Unfortunately one of the main founders lived in the apartment building in Moscow that was leveled by Chechen terrorists, and was killed. For at least two months his picture appeared on the webpage and nothing else was updated.
I lost the link shortly after that and haven't been back since. Does anyone have any clue what I am talking about or know if the website still exists?
Thank you.
BEST WISHES,
STEELER
