[FIXED] Pop-up message

Post by Kobu »

Hi

I don't remember when this was added but it is extremely annoying that any unit configured for "Weapons hold" displays a red message warning you of this condition.
I think the message is unnecessary, you configure that aspect of the ROE yourself because you are aware and do not need any warning.
In large scenarios it is even more annoying and surely consumes resources unnecessarily.
I think it's better to remove it completely.

I am pretty sure the reason it was added was because there a few complaints and suggestions around this. Specifically a few players thought it was too difficult to sort through ROEs. More real time feedback was requested.

I assumed why it had been added but this is not a simulation for "anyone", it takes seconds to learn that the first thing you should look at if a unit does not fire is whether it has an order to fire or not. People do not need more help of this type, they need to invest hours of study in understanding how the simulator works, which I repeat is not for everyone.
These small details ruin the immersion and do not solve anything for the people who ask for it, who will get stuck again on something else later. You cannot add a reminder for each option, which is our responsibility to know.

At the very least (I know it's more work for developers) to make it optional.

It is a "bark", there is already an option for this.

What I noticed is that you may disable without restarting the scenario. However if you want it back you have to restart it. Not sure this is a bug or WAD.

That option does not deactivate what I say.

Returning to the topic, there are times where the message is repeated infinitely even if you do not have that unit selected.

It does not make any sense.

In the screenshoot after 30 minutes of play and a few reals, the message continues to appear.
With many missiles it is even worse.

I think that is the option but is not working properly.

Barks were added in 1258.1, the post by Dimitris.

Yes, you're right. This option and others like map symbols do not work correctly. I thought this option referred to the "tracks" that planes can leave and that it was recently added as an option as well.

the hold bark is now governed by the "Behaviour Bark" game option mentioned by Nikel.

Thanks for highlighting this one, the fix will be included in the next update release
