Id like to buy it but

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Id like to buy it but

Post by Titan »

No-One seems to be marketing or selling it in New Zealand and at $49.95 US + shipping is going to be well over $100.00, when i got uncommon valour it ended up in the end at about $120.00.

Most games in our shops hover around $70-100, Blitzkrieg for example is $89.95 to a top end game not that i own it. As much as i would like to own Korson,Im not going to pay that much, especally when its hit and miss with no demo.Anyway im even though Matrix is asking top dollar, its the cost of getting it downunder which is the let down,Surley they must have an Australasian distributor ????

I think Ross/David mentioned they were working on this - I have had some phone calls and emails about where to buy in OZ and I can't advise at present...hope the matrix guys can get something good organised!

yes I agree, ordering direct from Matrix for Australians, given that there is only a courier option and no post option, has pushed the price up to unrealistic price levels imho.

Still, I am sure we will all hear some good news at some point :-)

Guys,

Don't know if it helps, but have you checked out Duchet Computers in UK? They ship worldwide and the p&p within Europe is ridiculously low (1 GBP! ), so hopefully the charge to Oz won't be too much.

Geez, at those rates it might be less costly for you to move to the U.S. and buy the game here  :D

Your Kidding

Post by Black Cat »

I ship EBay stuff by USPS overseas all the time by something called " Small Packet Air". Takes about 1 week.

The parcel has to be just that, small and light, which the KP Box is.

The cost to England is about $7.00 and to Oz is about $10.00.

If you really are paying someone $50.00 in shipping hopefully they are including a very large jar of Vaseline

I believe he was including the conversion to NZ Dollars in there, so $49.95 + Shipping in US dollars comes out to over $100 in NZ dollars.

Erik

I thought his complaint, in the last paragraph was, quote " the cost of getting it down under is the let down " unquote.

As of today the conversion rate is $1 US = $1.72176 NZ.

So the cost of Small Packet Air shipping is approx. $17.00 NZ.

Boat Mail is probably half of that.

It may be of interest to note that the KP I got from Chips & Bits was shipped as USPS Priority Mail which cost $4.75, which was about $1.00 more then the actual USPS charge.

So Titan may want to EMail them.

Sorry I butt in, just trying to be helpful to our friends down under

Just to put the record straight our conversion rate is 58 NZ Cents to the US dollar,i think black cat may have me confused as an Aussie. The point i would like to make is the current arrangement for anyone down under especially NZ the cost of the game or any game from Matrix is not competative what simialr games are of that level,Matrix need to have a distributor so we can get the game here in bulk so we can buy it for a fair price, its notthat most cant afford it,but when you consider they also have other games that myself and others would like it suddenly becomes an expense.Ive purchased uncommon valour and the cost ended up being $130-40 at that particular time and i dont intend to buy three or four more i would like off them at that price again, our dollar has improved since then, but, its still a very expensve way of getting it that shouldnt be neccessary. And some games like EU1 for example was past its Us by date the time it arrived here!!!!!, but then other games like blitzkrieg we get on release or close to it,with KP the time things get sorted out with distrubition etc buyers down here like my self may have gone cold by then. When we make a buying decision it only lasts for a short period and the longer we wait the less i will want,i think that part is human nature,so i want it now, give it another mnth and my desire wont be so strong,i have other people here who are keen to but we cant walk up to our local shop and buy it,so most likely most of us wont get it in the end.And unless there is a distrubtion proccess we will end up not getting the others as well as it costs to much to bring each game in on a individual basis.

To this day if i never order UValour i still would not have it to this day,as i have not seen it in our shops, and by the way things are going we will not see the other fine games either, and most people will not pay $120-130 regulary.

Definitely agree...

Post by Erik Rutins »

Titan,

I couldn't agree more - we are always working to get better distribution in all parts of the world. Since the original release of UV, our distribution to many areas is much improved. Unfortunately, there is still work in progress for NZ and Australia, but we are working on it. We certainly want to make it as easy for our NZ and Australian customers as it is for our US and European customers to get affordable shipping prices on our games.

We've also worked with Vortigern (http://www.vortigern.com.au) and if shipping from Australia is more competitive for you, you may want to drop them an e-mail or give them a call to see what their inventory status is. They generally stock everything we release in terms of wargames.

I made it home so quick from the store because Murphy knew I was going to look at the manual at every red light...

so no red lights.

You guys arent the only ones.

Ever since multiple close calls trying to make it home with CC5 I have since started locking the game in the trunk till I get home.

Unless I have somebody with me to read aloud.:p
