Hitting the "S" hotkey shows the locations of the supply crate/fuel drum icons but maybe you mean something else?

I think you more just have to know.

10 or stronger city is a main supply for the starting owning country.
Supply crate is a main supply for the starting owning country.

Hopefully that helps...
