Beaning the Beamers - Czechoslovakian Grognard Tactical Victory

Post by GeorgeCostanza »

This was a victory I had to work really hard for... it took about 7 attempts (restarting completely with randomized enemy battle plan anytime I failed, no save scumming)

Despite trying to keep myself honest with the restart policy, of course every playthrough I garnered valuable intelligence that allowed me to optimize my offensive.

I tried various different strategies, low and slow, hammer and anvil and simply just waiting for them to come at me and none of them worked. Finally realized that I just had to go extremely hard from the word go and reach the other side of the map to ambush the spawning Leopard 2A4s. During my winning run I think I got further than the scenario designer was intending because the 2A4s spawned either behind me or directly adjacent so it ended up being a turkey shoot.

Is this a scenario thats more supposed to be NATO only? As I really cant see a way to achieve a victory as the CZs in this without ambushing the Germans at their spawn points.

Probably the most formidable asset the west germans have are those Jaguar 1A3s though. You have to get close to them with helicopters or ambushes or they just annihilate anything they set sights on.

Nice job! That is a scenario Charles made for testing that we rolled into the release.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
