Beaufort Torpedo issue

Post by Bella »

I have 8 Beauforts in Rangoon. They’re set to Naval Attack and carry torpedoes. But the game keeps using them to bomb land targets with bombs. Lost one already (had 9). I want to reserve them for attacks on Japanese convoys.

How do I stop this?

I can't tell why they are doing so from the picture that you did not post.

A picture always helps. Do you have the squadron set to ground attack as a secondary mission by any chance? With no Japanese ships about to attack that will be what they try to do instead.

If you have airHQ, make sure that it is supplying torpedoes. Or if one is in range....GP

If the unit has no torpedoes it will use bombs. But that still won't change the targeting.

What Joe said. if you set a secondary target, irrespective of having torps or not, it will default to bombs if no primary naval target is found.

The other issue could be range. TBs can only carry torps to their "Normal range" and switch to bombs automatically if the target is at "Extended range".

The suggestion about a secondary target (airfield) was correct. I removed it and problem is solved. Thanks!
