Load cost data error?

Post by Admiral Scott »

Why are almost all the naval guns listed in my scenario editor have a value of 9999?

I am trying to find the load cost data for all the naval guns on Allied ships.

I am not positive, but some devices might have different stats depending on which scenario you are playing - similar to how bases can have different configurations for the small scenarios than the Grand Campaign. I think 9999 is usually a placeholder number to be reset when the game's first turn is run.

Ok, I solved it.
The manual says the load cost for these weapons are the effect value times 2.

Yep, buried on p.212

Rearm Level uses a rearm cost for each device aboard a ship. For Mines, ASW devices and
Torpedoes, the load cost is used (this is usually the weight of the weapon). For guns (Naval,
DP, flak), double the effect (as load cost does not reflect the size of ammo) Aircraft Sorties has
a flat cost of 500.

I have checked in the new manual if this info is maybe repeated next to the rearm cost table. Sadly, it is not.

A 9999 load cost means you can't load it on a ship, iirc.
