What limit supply in my turn?

Post by xishengkaix »

1943, Soviet, Kiev
Enough supply in national pool. It seems the rail way was not blocked to Kiev. But the depots among Kiev do not received supplies as much as it demand. In another forum, the other player told me it may be the cause of insufficient vehicles. If it really so, there should be a blue bar represent the storage in depot. Right?

Definitely not trucks. Did you move units by rail? Usually, you don't see a lot of orange rail just from moving supplies.

Are the railyards damaged? Making it a super depot will bring in more freight, assuming the railyards are not badly damaged.

I didn't move unit by rail in this turn and the former turn. This is the screenshot with map mod including factory and rail damage and logistic. Is the railyard info present in the blue circle of the second pic? Could manually assign construction unit like engineer brigade expand capability? I didn't find solution in manual Chapter25.
Railway load in some grids among center area are orange. Is that the main cause?

Not an expert in this by any means, but, my thoughts.
4k vehicles seems very low in the pool, mine I think is about 14 K and I think that is very low.
It doens't give a lot of vehicles to move around to replace damaged vehicles.
you might want to try to get that up.

Are your units in that combat area on refit. If so supply will be converted to equipment when you might just want ammo / fuel.
- May be better to move units to a parallel branch / off map to refit. - or at least move them onto depots to save vehicle use.

Have you brought a lot of units on map to fight there? (they come in with minimal fuel, ammo so might strain supply)

I think a lot of depots on 4 will burn through vehicles.

Have you reduced depots where not needed elsewhere on the map.

you could pulse any level 1 depots in the rear by setting them to 0 for a turn.

do you use superdepots - HQ or rail unit on the HQ to prioritise.

you could try using aircraft to fly in supply.

Check your railyards (2 and above) are repaired.
On the production screen it seemed to say all rail yards are undamaged, but one screenshot shows damage on a railyard 1.

Try the N key to show where supplies are coming from. The more long lines, the more vehicles are used.

You do have some green in the most forward depots, so some freight is stored.
If that doesn't go to units I thought that means either they are not asking for it, or no vehicles. I rarely have spare freight on the actual front line.
Putting your armour divs onto depots while they are in the rear might reduce vehicle use a bit / increase MP if they use their own vehicles, and ensure they are in the best shape.
Likewise, presume HQ on the depot will supply their support units directly from the railhead, so all the arty etc shouldn't use vehicles for supply.
You could put front HQ on large railyards nearby to assist.
Does the black and white train symbol mean a logistic air strike?
If so, would putting an HQ with air defence units on some sectors help
Apologies If teaching you to suck eggs.
edit:
Also any guides on how to not have a shortage of planes.
I start at stalingrad, but always have big plane shortages.
