1.31 BETA Next Unit Bug

Post by alwaysdime »

Hi,

I have notice in multiple scenario's that the next unit does not work correctly. Multiple times I have seen it cycle thru the same few units. I couldn't recreate it in 1.30.

Hello alwaysdime,

Sorry to hear about the issue and thank you for reporting it. I wasn't able to immediately recreate this problem. I started a few scenarios and cycled through the next and previous units without any issues.

To clarify, the system should cycle through units that haven't moved or fired yet. Are you seeing untouched units being skipped?

Which play mode are you using—versus computer, PBEM, or hotseat? Could you zip and attach a save file here so I can take a closer look at the problem?

Thank you!

Here is a recent example.

M40 RCLR 106mm in 24,6- NO points left to use or fire yet when I got to the next unit it selects
2 1/2 ton truck in 25,7 - 80 points left

I would not expect next unit to keep switching between these same 2 units. I could see the trucks maybe but not the M40. It will endlessly switch between them despite the M40 having no action points.

P.S. I had to rename the file to .txt to upload it.

I am afraid the save won't help. As soon as I reloaded the game after I saved it I got the expected behavior of displaying the message all units have been considered. Back to step one.

I recorded a short video of this issue where it recycles to about the same 5 units with never saying all units have been considered like it should. Ignore the first 10 or seconds since I clicked on a few units before starting to press N. Unfortunately I don't know how to edit the video to shorten it.

Here is a link to Mega where you can view it or download it. Its over 200 megs so thats why I didn't post it here direct

Am I still the only person that gets this bug? I am ob 3.00.03 and continue to get this bug. I have seen it in Vietnam and Middle East.

I just did some testing.

If you have the Highlight Organization ON it will only cycle through the highlight organization.

If you have it OFF, then it will cycle through all the units.
