Troops loading Problems

Post by Schatten »

Invasion Fleet of 5 Med Transportships with 200k capacity. Set as Invasion Fleet/Manual with Army Template Invasion Army.
Invasion Army Template 50% Infantry 40% Armor 10% Special Forces

4 Identical Fleets at the World where all Troops await boarding (of all the Troops Infantry,Armor, Spec dozends still on the world after all Fleets have loaded)

Result:
Fleet 1: 23 Inf 6 Armor 5 Spec
Fleet 2: 15 Inf 9 Armor 7 Spec
Fleet 3: 12 Inf 9 Armor 10 Spec
Fleet 4: 23 Inf 7 Armor 3 Spec

Basically they dont give a s.... at the % and load as they like

I don't think it work like that, the fleet tries to adhere to that rule but not specifically as that could easily end up in the fleets never able to do anything trying to load the optimal troop ratios. It depend on what is available and where as well as probably a hole lot of other things.

The total amount in your example is not that bad to be honest with about 56% infantry, 25% armour and 19% special forces.

If the fleet goes to a single world and load ALL the troops from there I think it should be able to fill the quota more accurately.

I think you need to think about the template as the optimal ratio and not a precise ratio.

Well for this it was exactly so. it was one World for all 4 Fleets and all the Troops were recruited here, much more as need (not exactly the numbers but like 40 Inf 30 Armor and 30 Spez still left on the World after loading).
So Basically all 4 Fleets could load exactly the amount on Troops needed and even if not than all 4 should load exactly same, they were at same time around the World and no more troops were recruited, they were all availiable and not garrisoned.

IIRC, even if setting armies to 100% armored, invasion fleets will still load infantry and colonies will still make planetary defense.

Whatever functionality it has is beyond me, my usual method to determine how things works is to go to the extremes first and see how it works there.
