Against Allied AI cutt of Burm Road works?

Post by morphin »

HI
I'm planning a game against Allied AI soon (when the patch will come out,Scenario 7 Beware the dorniers) I wonder if it is worth to cut off the Burma road against the AI. It seems that the AI is does not use it for supply delivery to China? (at least at Hard an Very Hard settings).

On harder difficulty levels the Allied AI will obviously get some additional supply advantages. But still it probably wouldn't hurt to deny it those supplies it receives daily in China for holding the length of the road.

Plus, who knows? If left open the AI might start sending British and Indian LCUs up the road into China to support Chiang and make your life miserable

As noted above, the AI would take advantage of the Burma Road supply, so cutting it will impact the AI.

However, on VH, you may or may not notice much difference. The ability of the AI to move supply on VH is pretty high, so normal tactics like encirclement and supply bombing don't have the same effect that they would in a PBEM game. Don't think it has no effect, that also is not accurate. But truthfully, you cannot starve AI units into oblivion in VH. You can weaken them severely, but you still have to defeat them in combat. Encirclement with still prevent them from fleeing to a possibly higher defense terrain.

Hope this helps ...

Since Burma Road supply is abstracted, (when open 500 supply points per turn are added to Tsuyung) you don't really see how it works.

So better cut it as Japan.
