1960s Missile Boats still using coal?

Post by thedoctorking »

I thought this was an odd message. Notice that the ship is going slower than its supposed maximum, so perhaps it really is using coal?

Daft as it may sound, the British did develop a series of Steam Gun Boats around the start of WW2.

HMS Grey Goose, SGB9, was sold out of service in 1957.

Having said that, only 7 were built (9 laid down, 2 damaged and cancelled during construction) due to them requiring too many resources (steel hulls for example). Nonetheless they were quite potent vessels for that displacement.

So yeah, they shouldn't really be appearing.
