how can I determine if a target is within the NEZ of a missile

Post by dummycatz »

In the CMO manual, there's a detailed explanation about the Dynamic Launch Zone (DLZ) and its importance, including the concept of the No Escape Zone (NEZ). However, are there any specific UI elements in the game that allow me to check whether a target falls within the NEZ or other parts of the DLZ?

For instance, in real life (using the F-18 as an example), the DLZ consists of several components like Raero, Rmax, Rne (NEZ), and Rmin, as shown in the diagram below.

So, in Command: Modern Operations, how can I determine if a target is within the NEZ of a missile?

There is no UI element for it. It's a variable range based on the firing units speed, the missile being fired, and the target speed, and target max speed. I'm sure there's some other variables in there as well.

The only way to tell is when the missile fires.

I think the short version is the virtual pilots "see" this information (and act on it), and you are not sitting in the cockpit with them.
