AB1943

Post by zasgard »

I've heard that the AB 1 mod "ab1943" is somehow able to "port" over to AB2. Is that true? I'm guessing it requires some technical know-how to do that?

Would this mod be steam only or can it be a mod supported/created outside of steam?

Thanks

I don't think it will be a simple port as 3d assets don't exist for it.

The mod can be manually installed - it is an additional database in the game folder, but you need to get a copy from the workshop to do that as the ModDB version has not been updated.

Thank you for that info. I'll just have to wait until someone who is able to do that can do so (if anyone does) before I buy.

I haven't tested it but the mod should work in AB2, just copy the folder to "Documents\My Games\Armored Brigade 2\data\database".

The unit models use various placeholders (so they will look like Cold War tanks, BMPs etc.) until somebody makes proper WW2 3D models and textures.

ah, thank you for clarifying that. So, I just have to wait for a talented 3d artist to make all those little ww2 tank sprites!

i tried to follow instructions, but I cannot select a database other than default.

I copied ab 1943 mod to this folder:
c:\Users\xxxx\Documents\My Games\Armored Brigade 2\data\database\2404128415\

where 2404128415 is steam id of the mod.

I also tried to copy files without subfolder to "data\database" or to the game subfolder

"c:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Armored Brigade 2\data\database\"

Am I doing anything wrong?

thanks

Works for me, if I just copy the Steam Workshop folder there.

Has there been any news on who or if someone is working on an AB1943 mod or is that something that can't happen until the STEAM release?
