Navigating “Edit > Forces”

Post by rhinobones »

Is there an easy way to navigate “Edit > Forces” for locating desired formations/units?
I’ve always just scrolled thru the Force Editor screen, but with some scenarios having hundreds of units this becomes time consuming and tedious. Viewing the Order of Battle screen helps to narrow down the formation location, but in the end it still requires scrolling.
Anyone know of an easier way to navigate?

The OOB is arrangeable in TOAW IV [you can click on each heading to arrange by Unit, Formation, etc.]. That may help a little.

The Scenario Dump can be used to quickly search for Units and Formations. That will give a better idea as to where a target is located.

Otherwise, it is Hunt and Peck or Poke and Hope as we say! Or maybe we can dl TOAW into Siri and ask her to find stuff for us ;)

That's answer I was hopping not to hear. Evidently no way to avoid scrolling thru the force listing and I suspect it will become more complicated when little pictures of commanders are added.
Sounds like this is an issue for Eric.

Appreciate the reply, regards

In deployment mode, from the OOB report you can scroll to the desired unit via the scroll bar, then switch to the Unit Report and edit the unit there. The Force Editor is for the initial bulk design of the forces.

Alternately, if the unit is on the map, just click on it and then open the Unit Report.
