Is there a way to Save/Import Reference Points and Zones into a new scenario?

Post by PaidLeber »

Is there anyway I can save reference points and zones in one scenario on disk, then import into a new scenario?

I'm doing the flight tutorials over Israel but I have to keep creating the same BARCAP and CAP zones for each lesson. In any game/simulation, my favorite thing to do is to plan things out then watch the wheels spin but I also would like to avoid any tedium and get to the fun.

I know you can import export zones. Maybe you can create a no nav zone, export it, then import it, remove the no nav assignment, and just have the RPs left. I have not tried it, but logic would say it should work.

What I do with complex RP configurations in related scenarios is create a no unit scenario and create RPs as needed in one to copy the "blank" over as the template for the next one. Don't have the need to do it often, but have done it a couple times.

Confirmed the first method works. But be careful of file save location and the fact the export file has no extension. Other than that, worked perfectly. You can create and import zones all over the place than remove the zone to leave the RPs behind. It even leaves the original RP names in place.

Kind of glad you asked. I never thought of doing that before. It will allow people to build no nav zones around countries and share them so no one else has to do it.

Good questions and answers, thank you.
Is it an idea to put this in the manual thewood1?

You could make a duplicate of the scenario and erase all assets, or adjust them?

Or you could make a scenario - set up all Ref Points and zones before you add any other assets. Save it. Copy that save multiple times. Then build your scenario on each save.

Maybe?

Wasn't that basically my second option listed?
