OT - the courage of a young US Naval officer

Post by ReadyR »

I'm not sure how many on this chat would be aware of the fantastic story that involved the young Jimmy Carter, during his time as a naval officer. The story took place on the Ottawa River in Canada, just a bit up river from the city of Ottawa. It involved a nuclear accident and the work of the small team from the US Navy sent to help contain it.

Well worth a read if you are unfamiliar with it...

I had read a little about this some time back but was interested to learn more. Unfortunately, the article you posted is behind a paywall.
