Modding question about modding Airfield effects and Light Tanks

Hello! First off thanks to the devs and community for keeping this game possibly the MOST popular of the Strategic Command series even after more recent games. If you look at the MP PBEM there's always more WaW games up than for other titles.

I'm working on an alternative Grand Campaign mod that will integrate aspects of the new features and changes in WaW Pacific into the 1939 scenario. Where in the editor can you edit how airfields buffs air units on it? I want to give units 1 away the benefits of the airfield (not only the 1 unit that can fit on the hex) of the 10% extra moral damage and 4 hex more strike distance. Is there a way I can change those values as well?

Secondly for units. For the Light Tank unit is there any way to enable it to have 2 strikes like the regular tank unit upon research of armored warfare research and to modify the chance % it retreats upon battles?

Thirdly is there a way to rename existing country and tags? Such as renaming Italian East Africa to Italian Colonial Empire.

Lastly is there any way to create new nations with the same tech as say the UK upon creation via events? I am trying to make Free France its own separate major (weirdly in the game, French Polynesia is a major instead of Free France but ends up with the tech France had in 1939 which is almost nothing). I believe Vichy France upon creations starts with some technology correct or does it not. What is the process of creating a new country tag and giving it technology?

Hi

Airfields buff can be edited by going to Campaign -> Edit Penalties/Bonus Data.

However, it will only affect units on the airfields, not those adjacent to them. A rough solution might be to have more airfields than you had originally planned.

Yes, go to Campaign -> Edit Country Data -> Edit Research -> Advanced -> Upgrades -> Automatic Increments

Yes, by changing localization, just search the Manual for this word.

You may also wish to peruse Part 2 of the Manual as that provides a guide to the Editor and modding, and will answer these questions plus many more!

If the country created is a Minor then it can benefit from the UK's tech, but if it is a Major then unfortunately not.

In the case of French Polynesia, which the game treats as a major it seems like. Is it a completely new Major that's created when Vichy France gets created and France surrendered? If so there must be a way to edit the tech French Polynesia starts with when it is birthed into existence.

Also like in the WW1 game is there anyway to add OVERLAND convey routes? Like how there is one from Germany to AH in WW1 scenario. Not sure if this is already implemented in the latest patch but the convey route to Murmansk should extend overland down to Leningrad which would let play by Finland/Germany to try and cut that route off possible. Same with Burma Road/Hump which I think is abstracted already but an actual convey line showing it would help visuals.

If French Polynesia is a Major then yes, that is possible.

There can be a maximum of 10 Majors, and the choice of the 10 is up to the campaign designer. Though I will add that in the official campaigns, French Polynesia is not a Major, so either you have made it one, or are modding a mod that had it as a Major.

Convoys can only be fully on land or full on sea, so this isn't possible. However, there is a dummy Decision to check that all the hexes from Murmansk and all hexes to Belomorsk plus Vologda are in Allied hands, see DE 162.

There is also a dummy Decision for a similar approach to the Burma Road, see DE 351.
