AI update from SC War in the Pacific.

Post by incbob »

Question:
Will this game be updated to bring the Pacific theatre AI and rules inline with the new SC War in the Pacific?
If the answer is yes, approximately when could this be expected?

I was nervous about getting the new SC War in the Pacific game, but finally saw some decent reviews and bought it. Wow? This is the Pacific theatre the way it should be. Now I need the simultaneous European theatre....

Wait a minute, so the SC-WiP is really good?
All I read was testers, players, etc. bitching that the game was just a scenario of SC-WaW.
I took look at it during testing and the initial release.
Maybe it's good now, what version is the game on?

I bought the SC-ACW, played half of dozen games. The playability in the East (Virginia) was absolutely, not for me.
Surprisingly, the West, Far West had some fun aspects, but overall, the Army aspect needs a touch-up.

Engine changes which include generic AI improvements, enhanced PBEM security, greater ease for Linux users and for those playing on Steam Deck will be updated in this and our other games.

While a small number of changes were ported over to World at War, the vast majority of new campaign features in the Pacific campaign will not be ported over to World at War.

There was a bit of that, some of it by people who didn't get much further than looking at the map. But that was certainly not a universal feeling, and the game has a Very Positive review score on steam.

PS It is now on 1.03.04 with the release of our Rise and Fall of an Empire DLC on Friday, which includes some campaigns like 1937 Marco Polo that certainly gave me and others a nail biting PBEM experience during Beta.

Thanks for quick reply
I see there's the game to buy.
There's a scenario pack, right.?

@ThunderLizard (if you read this) -- which you playing? (Scenarios that us). You said it's good & I should get it so we could pair up.

I myself think SC WitP captures the feel of the pacific war much better than SC WaW.

Also, while SC WaW is a great game overall, it can be a little overwhelming for me managing so many fronts.

My dream is to be able to play a updated SC WiE that has the same features as SC WitP.

I am a little intrigued by this request as I'm not sure what features you mean that could be ported from Pacific to Europe?

I was under the impression that WitP had features not found in the earlier game.

I guess I was mistaken, it's been ages since I've played WiE.

That's true, but that is World at War, not War in Europe.
