Matrix Games and Slitherine merged about 15 years ago and are now two brands within the same company. Our main office is in the UK now, with our marketing office in Italy. We have staff and development teams all around the world though. Matrix Games in the US now has a large focus on the Professional (military) side of the business, along with commercial releases.

Useful having to visit that marketing office in Italy, especially in ski season :)

Incidentally, isn't "Calvinus" of "World War One" game based near there?

World War 1 Centennial Edition or gold edition -or what was called-were good designed but very unstable games, in all my computers. Perhaps there is an office because of that in Italy. As Piemonte I don't think they would join Crimean War as for re-make the game. I think it would fit well Matrix side of gaming as very good boardgame designs. It was a good game but not improved unfortunatelly.

The game was originally a board game by Philippe Thibaut - one of the Ageod game designers.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/541 ... erre-14-18

Calvinus real name Luca Cammisa has a website for some of his later board games although it does not appear to have been updated fora while:

https://sites.google.com/view/calvinusgames/home

"My name is Luca Cammisa, nicknamed Calvinus, and I was born in 1972. I'm a former software engineer, now an IT Administrator with the hobby of boardgames. I'm a wargamer since early 1990's when I was introduced to games by Avalon Hill titles, but I've been also a developer of computer games since early 1980's (the era of home computers such as Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64). So my background is essentially gaming!

For some years I worked as a freelance PC game developer and I developed some titles such as Pax Romana (as a support developer), published by DreamCatcher in 2003, Great Invasions (as a lead developer), published by Nobilis in 2005, World War One (as designer and lead developer), published by AgeoD in 2008 and later in 2009 with an improved edition called World War One Gold.

Then I retired from PC game development and returned to my hobby: wargames and boardgames design.

In this site you will find my published titles Founding Fathers and its major expansion Civil War & the Gilded Age (a game designed by Rick Heli, I worked as graphic designer), Rise of Totalitarianism, Secret Weapons of the Third Reich and Democracy under Siege, but also Age of Monarchs for which I've recently arranged a deal with an European Publisher."
====
I admire these small game designers. Frank Hunter of Campaigns on the Danube is another. Miguel Sanchez/ of HQ games who did Thirty Years War and English Civil War for Ageod is another:

Yes I did have a few forum chat with Calvinus about game in AGEOD forum. Then retired. Philippe Thibaut is the designer boardgame Calvinus is about PC version. I don't know about what engine they've used in PC version. Then random team takes over, 'World War 1 Centennial Edition' to solve instability about game performance after a few turns.Philippe Thibaut did make Taiping Rebellion and Korean War. As I've said before -as an opinion of course- to Slitherine&Matrix gain this valuable developer perhaps more about very good designer.

This is both off-topic and seemingly current political situation bait.

I don't know what 10p is.

well im old

and we used to say when growing up, to put 10 bob in the meter, which is to say, put 10p in the electric meter so you can carry on using the electric
in British slang, "10 bob" refers to ten shillings, which was worth half a pound before decimalisation. It is also a term used in Cockney rhyming slang where "ten bob" is short for "ten shillings".
so not really 10p but not old enough either to remember what a shilling was either lol

I was leaning, that you were saying 10 pence, for only a dime (10 pennies) American. Seemed rather small for parking meters. Actually, parking meters don't even take coins anymore. Cards only. Typical $5/hour. Unreal.
