Massive Depot Truck Usage Increase

Post by Dereck »

1941-11-16. Just got 500,000 added to the manpower but have made no changes to my depots and the truck usage jumped 166%.

Any plausible reasons?

What is "Truck usage"?

...if your TOEs were not full/low because of missing manpower and now the missing elements were able to be sent with the men then
1. the depots will send out more freight (=more "truck usage" for deliveries)
2. the divisions will need more trucks (=more "truck usage" of trucks needed in units)

Truck usage from the production screen. I'm tracking it in a spreadsheet.

What you say makes sense except for the fact that trucks in units actually went down.

I did get the 500k of manpower but when I went through every unit on the map to check the TOE with the MAX TOE % there wasn't any large jumps. The biggest jumps in my TOEs were actually in the units in the Strategic Reserves. Seems all the 500k went there.

Sry but you need to be more specific. Do you mean:
"VEHICLES IN DEPOTS"?

Yes. The amount of trucks in depots went up 166% this turn when it had been steady.

One thing to know about this figure is that it does not only contain "TRUCKS IN DEPOTS" (on MAP) but it also includes the Trucks inside TB's "Depots". So if you say you received 500k which almost exclusively went to the Reserve TB then you may want to check the Reserve TB's "status" tab (which in normal TBs shows the percentages), there's a "Truck (Used)". Now compare this number to the previous, I'd assume this explains a large portion of this.

Btw. priorities for manpower are:
1. ReserveTB on REFIT
2. MAP on REFIT
3. Reserve TB
4. MAP
....forgot where the other TBs lie in priority....

From what you said in the first post I finally had time to look at the game (had to finish going through the 400 wildlife photos I took this morning) and, sure enough, in the Strategic Reserves, truck usage went up 3x.

Would be nice to be able to set max TOE in the SR to 0.

Well you can set it to 50% but more importantly you should be adjusting TOEs down from T1. All AAs attached to cities should be at 50. When destroyed units start to return in the Reserve their max TOE is 0. Do not adjust them all up at the same time. Pick 4 or 5 per turn only otherwise your manpower stock will evaporate quickly with say every div getting 200 men each. And disband unwanted support units.
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.
