Factory move question

If city A has a 10 point factory and you move 5 points to city B, what happens to the 5 points NOT moved? Do they stay in the original city or are they destroyed?

USS Midway CV-41 (1981-1984)
Whidbey Island, WA (1984-1986)
Naval Reserve (1986-1992)
