Playing pbem using the improved AI

Post by Maple Leaf »

For those players that enjoy pbem play... a very enjoyable option is to use a hybrid style game.
Using 3-4 human players controlling the big major powers (GB, France, Russia, Spain) and letting the AI play the remaining major powers. It has the benefit of really speeding up the pace of play (we often get a month of game play in 2-3 days!) and the unpredictability of human opponents. Additionally, it's a lot easier to find 2 or 3 other players that remain committed to the game.
I highly recommend giving it a try.

Just to add a comment. Last I heard from Maple Leaf a couple weeks ago, their active pbem game was up to August 1808. I don't know if there are any other active pbem games, but this one has been proceeding without needing any pbem bug fixes. They had a few growing pains, but I'll let them discuss that.

I'd like to reassure everyone that I am on the lookout for any pbem issues or any way to help clarify pbem instructions for new pbem playgroups. Maple Leaf assures me that the manual instructions are fine, but if anyone has any questions then please ask.
