TOAW and drones

Post by larryfulkerson »

I have an idea. Let's modify TOAW so that it models drones of various types. FPV drones for short ranges, the Bayactar for long ranges, etc. What values do we give them for AP, range, defense, etc. What do you guys think?

Check out 8.0 Ukraine on fire 2022. The equipment file and unit equipment lists have been designed with UAVs. Graphics have yet to catch up with the new equipment.

Having played (against myself) 8.0 Ukraine on fire 2022 and a few of the previous versions I believe they have done a good job introducing drones. It has added a new dimension to game play. Since they are air mobile they can strike behind lines fairly deep. They have been successful in airfield attacks and blowing up bridges like commandoes. They can really mess up supply lines. They tie down forces in the rear just to hunt them down and destroy them. Sure they get destroyed easily but get reconstituted quickly. One thing I would like them to do a bit better is in interdiction of enemy movement like artillery can. In support of attacks they are potent for their small size. I give them two thumbs up for their efforts.
