Question About Rafele B Max Ordinance

Post by DWReese »

In the game, the Rafele B (and many other aircraft) often have a Max Payload of 0 kg. Obviously, that's not correct, so I looked it up. It actually has 9500 kg maximum payload.

In CMO, India's version of the Rafele B has an Aircraft Loadout ID of 26001 that I would like to ask about.
It carries 4 A2A missiles; 3 drop tanks; 1 electronics package; and 16 250 kg ASM. That's 24 items. According to the aircraft data, it only has 14 hardpoints.

Does anyone know:
1.) why it's Max Payroll (and many others) is listed at 0 kg?
2.) how the plane could carry 24 different things with only 14 hardpoints?
3.) Is this an error, or do more than one of these items fit on the same hardpoint?

Thanks

1) 0 usually means that there's no limit. In this case, probably means whoever made the entry couldn't find it.
2) Because (some) the munition hard points have a bomb rack/ejector that's capable of carrying multiple weapons. See image of pretty much any modern non-stealth fighter.
3) No.

Thanks,

First time messing around with the Rafele. It's a really nice plane. Comes fully loaded.

This intrigues me too, even though the SPICE250s weigh less than 125kg (not 250kg) and there are 4 per hardpoint.

Of the 14 hardpoints, 2 seem to be reserved for pods, while the central drop tank occupies 2 others.

I think 8 SPICE250 are loaded instead of 2 drop tanks, as is the case with the French Rafales' loadouts with 12 T.25 bombs.
In the DB, the configuration (ID 26000) of the Rafale B Indian (#4777) with 2 MICA IR, 2 MICA EM, 2 Meteors, 3 drop tanks, and 16 Spice250 seems even more excessive.

With such loadouts, it's not easy to avoid a PL15.

Thanks for the info.

So, it would appear that the plane has 5, possibly 6, rails with which bombs could be attached. Since the loadout in the game lists 16, then that would mean that each rail would have to have at least 3, or possible 4 per rail. This is one loaded down plane.
