Tech support request

Hello,
I hope this is the right place to ask for tech support, if not please direct me to the right place.

I am facing an issue wherein I purchased the RTW3 on release, on Matrix.com. It worked absolutely fine, I played it lots, and enjoyed it. However I allowed my copy to get quite out of date, and decided to prevent the same issue occurring again I would uninstall my copy, and use the Steam Key that came with the purchase to redeem my copy of the game on steam. Having done so, Steam recognised the key, accepted it, and downloaded, then installed the game with no issue. However, I cannot launch the game. Upon clicking launch either on Steam itself, or via the .exe in the file directory (launcher, and game) I simply get no results. The button changes from green to blue, says cancel, then stop, and then turns back to green and says play again. I received no error message.

I have tried several fixes, including reinstalling the game, restarting my PC, and verifying file integrity. None of them have made the slightest bit of difference.

I would greatly appreciate any advice that will allow me to play the game once more. Please help.

I'm going to suggest reinstalling the Matrix version and applying the latest patch to see if that definitely loads.

If that loads, but the Steam version doesn't, we know it's an issue related to Steam.

If neither works, we know it's an issue with the game itself.

Having followed your instruction, the game installed via Matrix works absolutely fine. So it must be a Steam issue.
