Shipyards?

So i read the manual. it makes little sense how they are applied.

i searched here and again cant obtain clear information.

I am Germany and i have 46 shipyards. i understand that when i buy ships that the value of the built cost for them cant exceed my current ship yards. even though it never states it that clearly!

But i am building 2 shipyards and 1 carrier, 1 merchant and 2 landing and 1 escort and 1 oiler. For total of 43 shipyard points.

Ive seen in some threads here that they go into stockplie and when trying to place them the shipyard value wont increase. Why?

i can see ports and the value from 1-9. which i think means the amount of ships that can be placed there? 9 being max? as well as how much can be supplied from that port?

but how do i tell the difference between a port and a shipyard? how do i see where my ship yards are? because when i look at ports i have a total of 122 in port value when i count up the port values. but only hexes showing 24, ports.

so how does the system know i have 46 shipyards? and if i placed 2 o the ones being built what happens on the hex?

Ports and shipyards have no connection. Shipyards are not placed in any port. Ports can hold any number of ships however they can only supply ships according to their size - see manual.

Does teh stockpile for shipyards mean how many shipyard points remining to build with?
